Frequently Asked Questions

Each of our in-school field trips is an hour with a  maximum of 35 students to keep the presentations engaging and interactive.

You decide on a start time, and we follow your schedule. There is no additional fee if there is a break for lunch, specials, etc. We recommend at least 5 minutes (10 minutes for programs with small group experiment stations)  in-between presentations to allow time for students to enter/exit the room.

*We will communicate with you before your field trip date so we have a firm start time, schedule and room number. We can also provide advice while you are planning.

It’s best if the presenter set up supplies in one room and the groups rotate. Your in-school field trip may be in any room (classroom, gym, science lab, library, media center, auditorium or theater).

If you need your presenter to move between classrooms, please let me know during booking. Some programs are quick to breakdown and setup, while others need more time because of the supplies. We’ll let you know how much time is needed, depending on the program, so your presenter may begin each session on time.

*Our Space Adventure is the only presentation with specific room requirements. Large rooms (auditorium, gym, cafeteria, etc.) with at least 10ft ceilings are ideal to inflate the dome. We will discuss different options if a large room is not available. A portable screen is available and we can adjust the height of the planetarium.

If there are no indoor rooms available, the presentation area outside must be in the shade with a limit of 4 hours in one day. If outside, temporary tents blow in the wind and a shaded area from trees eventually turns to a sunny spot. Please reserve space under a permanent pavilion type structure.

If you need more than 4 hours to accommodate your students, we will schedule another day to complete the in-school field trip. The limit on time outdoors is for the wellbeing of the presenters and animals.

*Space Adventure may only be setup indoors in an air conditioned room with access to an outlet. Wind, rain, sunlight and poor weather are safety hazards. Please let us know if air conditioning is not available so we may bring a portable air conditioner. A portable screen is available and we can also adjust the height of the planetarium.

Wind, rain, sunlight and other forms of weather will effect the planetarium, air blower, projector and also the safety of the students. Please, let us know if air conditioning is not available in the room so we may bring a portable device.

All of our presentations have a maximum of 35 students per group to make the experience engaging and interactive.

If there are 25 students or less during a presentation, our flat rates apply.
